Worshiping

  • What to Expect

Worship is the beating heart of our ministry. We gather Sunday mornings to approach God, receive God's grace in Word and sacrament, and respond to God's grace. Our Sunday worship helps us to organize our lives around these movements. In our worship service we sing, pray, read scripture, and hear a message by our pastor or a guest preacher.

Do you have children? Great! If you would like a break, we have a nursery for young children. Do you want to keep your children with you? Great! And don’t worry about them making noise. When we say we are a church family, we mean it.

  • Hybrid Worship

In addition to meeting in the sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday, members of the ARC family have the option of joining in worship on Zoom. Please click here for the link to connect by computer or smartphone and the number to connect by telephone.

  • Music Ministry

Anyone who likes to sing is welcome to join the Chancel Choir. Rehearsals are usually on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. If you're interested in singing in the choir, please contact the Church Office Administrator (nancymacarc@gmail.com).

  • Weather Emergencies

Whenever it is necessary to cancel a service due to a weather emergency, the following steps will be taken to notify the congregation:

    • A message will be placed on the church’s answering machine, (518) 861-8711, announcing the cancellation by 9:00 a.m. that Sunday

    • An email cancellation notice will go out

    • A notice will be placed on our ARC Facebook Page

On the second Sunday of May, June & July during morning worship, and directly following Pastor Matthew’s Children’s Message, the children will be invited downstairs to the ‘Story Place’ room where stories from the Bible will be read, told and playfully enacted in creative ways.

Our church has purchased copies of a new children’s Bible and that will be our source book. Questions may be addressed to Dan Capuano, chair of the Faith Formation Committee or to Carole deForest, (518) 895-2766, who will provide storytelling leadership along with other adult leaders.

Families can meet up with their children in the downstairs room, at the conclusion of worship upstairs. The first of three Second-Sunday Storytimes will be on May 11.
