Our Pastor
The Rev. Matthew J van Maastricht
Originally from the midwest, Pastor Matthew served two churches before arriving here. He has a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan and a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Pastor Matthew is also the first pastor since 1896 to serve both the Altamont and Helderberg Reformed Churches simultaneously. In addition to his service here, he is a Fellow of the Reformed Church Center and adjunct instructor in Reformed Church Studies at New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Pastor Matthew seeks to help people to learn about God and to love their community.

Choir Director
Stephanie grew up in the Altamont Reformed Church, and started directing the chancel choir in 2017 after spending a few years away at college and then in her first teaching job. Aside from the choir, Stephanie works as a middle and high school music teacher. She lives with her loving husband and 2 adorable cats. The chancel choir brings joy and hope to its members and the congregation each week.

Audrey graduated from Guilderland High School and SUNY Fredonia, Music Theory/Piano (1984 - 86). Pizza Hut/ Manager (1987 - 2013). Pianist, Glendale Nursing Home, and Auriesville Shine for Church Services/Activities (2002 - 2019). Studied Organ with Derek Stannard, Wayne Wold, and Justan Foster (2014 - 2019). BA in Theology, Mount St. Mary's University, MD (2016). Organist at National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, Emmitsburg, MD, (2016), Keyboardist at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Colonie, NY (2017), Organist at Altamont Reformed Church since January 2018. Concurrently, she works in food service at Our Lady of Mercy Life Ctr., Guilderland, NY, and Daughters of Charity, Menands, NY (2017- Present), Married to Michael C. Gilman on July 2nd, 2022, residing in Albany, N.Y.

I am so excited to become part of the ARC family, and cannot wait to use my skills to keep the office running smoothly.
I have a Bachelor's degree in social work, and I am currently in my Master of Social Work program through Capella University.
I have lived in upstate New York all of my life, with church and family being huge focal points of my upbringing. I now have a daughter of my own. Penelope is 2 years old and the center of my world. I love teaching her the ways of Jesus and having her with me at ARC to witness the joy and kindness a congregation can bring. I am so excited to meet each and every one of you, please feel free to stop in the office to say hello soon!
The Consistory
Our church is directed and led by a consistory which is a body composed of the minister along with elders and deacons who are elected from the congregation.
Elders are tasked with a ministry of watchful and responsible care over the welfare and good order of the church.
Deacons are tasked with a ministry of mercy, service, and outreach.
